I'm an adventure aficionado with an eye for photography and a knack for media creation. I live for a good story.
I love to find, listen, create, and share them.
I started off in a small town in Indiana and made my way to the Missouri School of Journalism to earn the best journalism education in North America, if not the world (but I am a little biased).
Since my arrival nearly four years ago, I have been able to put my strong work ethic into action. I'm a deadline-driven intern, shadow, extraordinaire with experience at local news stations like KOMU, Vox, and the Missourian.
As a well-rounded journalist, I've put my multi-tasking skills to the test while I shot, edited, reported on, and wrote about a multitude of stories ranging from the Grain Belt Express to SCUBA divers in Mid-Missouri.
Most of all, as an international convergence journalism major, I found my knack in international reporting. In the spring of 2018, I worked in Barcelona, Spain for NUSHU, a company that specializes in storytelling experiences. With their guidance, I utilized emerging media to create and complete an augmented reality storytelling mission that allows children to get hands-on when learning about international news. Moreover, I developed Spanish language proficiency. I intend to graduate with a minor in Spanish and it is my goal to be fluent by 2020.
Earlier this fall, I was an assistant producer at Global Journalist, a radio and television broadcast on KBIA, a National Public Radio affiliate in Missouri in the United States. In the spring I intend to return as a producer, writer, and content creator.
Recently, I started as a multimedia producer at Vox Magazine, where I am using multimedia tools to help pull together digital stories.
